11-Day Morocco Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech - City Tour
Upon arrival in Marrakech, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. After settling in, begin exploring this vibrant city known for its history, culture, and energy. Visit the iconic Jemaa el-Fnaa square, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where you can experience street performers, local food vendors, and vibrant souks. Explore the Koutoubia Mosque, the beautiful Bahia Palace, and the tranquil Majorelle Garden. Your first day in Marrakech will immerse you in its unique atmosphere and charm.
Day 2: Marrakech - Atlas Mountains - Kasbah Ait Benhaddou - Dades Valley
After breakfast, head towards the Atlas Mountains, passing through picturesque villages and enjoying breathtaking landscapes. Stop at the famous Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO-listed site that has appeared in many movies, including "Gladiator" and "Game of Thrones." Continue your journey to the Dades Valley, where you’ll be surrounded by dramatic mountain landscapes and towering rock formations. Overnight in a local guesthouse or hotel in the valley.
Day 3: Dades Valley - Todra Gorge - Merzouga Desert
This morning, visit the spectacular Todra Gorge, a narrow canyon with towering limestone cliffs. After taking in the breathtaking views, continue to Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Here, you’ll embark on a camel trek into the dunes for a magical sunset experience. Spend the night in a traditional desert camp, where you’ll enjoy local Berber music and starry skies.
Day 4: Merzouga - Midelt - Ifrane - Fez
Leave the desert behind and travel to Midelt, known as the "apple capital" of Morocco. From there, continue through the Middle Atlas mountains, passing by Ifrane, a charming town often referred to as "Little Switzerland" due to its alpine-style architecture. Day 5: Fez City Tour
Spend the day exploring the cultural and historical heart of Morocco. Wander through the ancient medina of Fez, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and visit its key landmarks, including the Bou Inania Madrasa, the Al-Qarawiyyin University (the oldest existing university in the world), and the lively souks. Day 6: Fez - Chefchaouen
Today, depart Fez and head to Chefchaouen, the famous "Blue City" nestled in the Rif Mountains. Spend the day wandering through its narrow streets, visiting the vibrant markets, and enjoying the laid-back atmosphere of this charming city.
Day 7: Chefchaouen - Cooking Class
Take part in a traditional Moroccan cooking class where you will learn to prepare classic dishes like tagine or couscous. After enjoying the meal you’ve prepared, take some time to explore more of Chefchaouen at your leisure. Visit the Spanish Mosque for panoramic views of the town, or simply relax in one of the town’s peaceful cafes.
Day 8: Chefchaouen - Tangier
Leave Chefchaouen and head towards Tangier, a city with a rich history and unique blend of cultures. Located on the coast, Tangier has been a crossroads of Europe and Africa for centuries. Visit the old medina, the Kasbah, and the American Legation Museum. Enjoy a walk along the picturesque coastline and experience the city’s relaxed atmosphere and multicultural vibe.
Day 9: Tangier - Rabat
This morning, continue your journey to Rabat, Morocco's capital city. Explore the landmarks of Rabat, including the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Royal Palace. Stroll through the Oudayas Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere by the sea. Rabat offers a mix of historical monuments and modern culture, making it a perfect destination for exploration.
Day 10: Rabat - Casablanca
After breakfast, drive to Casablanca, the economic hub of Morocco. Visit the impressive Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world, which is located right on the coast. Day 11: Transfer to Marrakech Airport
After breakfast, take a final transfer back to Marrakech. Depending on your flight time, you may have some free time to explore the city further or shop for souvenirs before heading to the airport for your departure.
